What are the factors that affect the wind pressure resistance performance of doors and windows?

Nowadays, high-rise residential buildings have become the common form of housing. Compared with multi-storey residential buildings, high-rise buildings involve more aspects. Their functional applicability, technical rationality and regulatory feasibility will undergo a qualitative change.

High-rise buildings

The main structure of the building is supervised by the developer, the supervision unit, and various government departments. However, the wind pressure resistance performance of the doors and windows can only be controlled by the property owners. When summer approaches and strong winds are about to rage, I will share some knowledge about the wind pressure resistance performance of doors and windows with you. Take it as you like.

1.Factors affecting the wind pressure resistance performance of doors and windows

There are two factors that test the wind pressure resistance performance of doors and windows:

A.External factors

1. Wind pressure calculation should be combined with the height of the floor from the ground. The higher the floor from the ground, the greater the wind pressure.

2. The shape of the building affects the size of the wind pressure value. Buildings with edges and corners have greater wind resistance and greater wind pressure. Smooth or streamlined buildings have smaller wind resistance and smaller wind pressure.

B.Internal factors

1. The higher the strength of the profile, the stronger the wind pressure resistance performance. In terms of strength: 6061-T6 > 6063-T6 > 6063-T5 > pure aluminum.

2. The cross-sectional width of the force-bearing components (such as middle beams) of the doors and windows is wider, the wind pressure resistance is stronger.

3. The thicker the profile wall thickness, the stronger the wind pressure resistance performance.

4. The performance of the accessories of the doors and windows has a significant impact on the wind pressure resistance performance of the entire window.

5. The manufacturing process of the doors and windows.

Parameters for wind resistance performance

1. For windows with a height of less than 2 meters, the main load-bearing members of the frame (middle beams) and the width of the outer frame section should not be less than 80mm;

2. The higher the floor level, the higher the wind resistance level of the selected window should be (wind resistance performance of exterior doors and windows is divided into 1-9 levels);

3. The larger the size of the window, especially for high-rise exterior windows, the higher the wind resistance performance level required;

4. The wall thickness of the profiles should comply with national standards.
